Prepare Your PC For Installation
Required Setup For Your Client
Your PC needs to have 2 network interfaces:
1) WiFi interface connected to Internet via your router,
2) Ethernet interface connected to Nokia Beacon devices via ethernet cable.
Network Interface Settings
WiFi Connection Settings:
The IP subnet of your router should be in a different range than 192.168.1.0/24 and 192.168.18.0/24.
Ethernet Connection Settings:
Two IP addresses (192.168.1.x and 192.168.18.x) should be assigned to the ethernet interface but there shouldn’t be any Gateway IPs assigned.
Download and Install
Step 1: Download Beacon Configuration Client
The client runs on following platform which will be automatically downloaded as well:
.NET Desktop Runtime 3.1.28 (x64)
Step 2: When “setup.exe” file is downloaded, double click on it to start the installation.
Step 3: If Windows prevents the “setup.exe” from running, click on “More info” link.
This message appears when Windows lacks information about the application you’re attempting to run. It often occurs when the application is hosted on a website, which is common practice for most vendors.
Step 4: Click on “Run anyway”.
Step 5: Click on “Install” when Windows asks about publisher verification.
